Rainy Jak Jazz

JAKARTA International Jazz Festival (Jak Jazz) 2008 was held at Istora Senayan Jakarta, November 28-30.  I had a chance to watch the show that provided 8 stages spreaded around and inside the Istora building.
The musicians from abroad who played their gigs, among others are Kyoto Jazz Massive (Japan), Ray Harris and the Fusion Experience, Abraham Laboriel (USA), and The Yellowjackets (USA).
Indonesia was represented by big stars such as Ireng Maulana (the founder of Jak Jazz), Idang Rasjidi, Indra Lesmana, Tompi, Tohpati, Syaharani, Iga Mawarni, Andien, Afgan, etc. Hard rain in each afternoon made some gigs suspended or retarded.
Collaboration between Yellowjackets and Tohpati (Indonesian outstanding guitarist) was the peak gig on the last day of the
 festival.
